What You’ll Do as Our Governance Data Intern:
As a Governance Data & Analytics Intern, you’ll play a vital role in the Global Policy Centre for Governance (GPCG). Your tasks may include:
- Research & Methodology: You’ll help research and review data collection tools and methodological guides.
- Data Analysis & Visualization: Furthermore, you’ll support data analysis and help create clear data visualizations.
- SDG 16 Survey Support: You’ll assist with the SDG 16 Survey’s implementation. This includes preparing capacity development workshops and other related activities.
- Reporting: Moreover, you’ll help develop the SDG 16 Global Progress Report and other analytical documents.
- Event Coordination: Finally, you’ll assist in preparing webinars and in-person meetings focused on SDG 16 and governance data.
Who We’re Looking For for This Governance Internship:
To qualify for the UNDP internship program, you must meet one of these requirements when you apply:
- You are in your final academic year of a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent). We prefer students in statistics, data science, psychology, sociology, or other social sciences.
- Alternatively, you are enrolled in a postgraduate program (master’s or higher). We prefer students in statistics, data science, assessment, measurement and evaluation, sociology, or other social sciences.
- You have recently graduated with a university degree (as defined above). If selected, you must start the internship within one year of graduating.
- Finally, you are enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program and will complete the internship as part of this program.
Language Skills:
- You must be fluent in spoken and written English.
- Fluency in French is desirable.
Key Competencies:
- You have excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- You show a strong interest in global development and the work of international organizations.
- You are a team player who works well with colleagues to reach shared goals.
- You have good organizational and time management skills.
- You can work independently and show initiative.
- Work experience from a developing country or an international organization is a bonus.

- Not Staff: Interns are not considered staff members. They cannot officially represent UNDP.
