As a National Consultant, you’ll facilitate national-level assessments using UNCTAD’s Accounting Development Tool (ADT) to enhance sustainability reporting practices in alignment with the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).
🛠 Responsibilities
The consultant will work under the direct supervision of the Project Officer and contribute to the following tasks:

Identify and compile a list of key public and private stakeholders for participation in the ADT evaluation process.

Develop an assignment matrix mapping ADT indicators to institutional areas of expertise.

Support stakeholders in completing the ADT assessment, including technical backstopping.

Draft an initial status report on the current state of sustainability reporting at the national level.

Assist with coordinating and facilitating a national workshop based on assessment findings.

Provide policy recommendations and an action plan to strengthen the national sustainability reporting ecosystem.
This role is especially suited for professionals interested in public finance, corporate sustainability, stakeholder engagement, and ESG reporting infrastructure.

🎓 Qualifications
🎓 Education:

A university degree in accounting, economics, public policy, finance, or a related field.
💼 Experience:

At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in public sector reform, ESG policy, corporate reporting, or UN project implementation.

Experience with stakeholder mapping, workshop facilitation, and policy analysis.

Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks (GRI, IFRS S1/S2, TCFD, etc.) is an advantage.
