💼 Role Summary

The selected expert will support national and regional initiatives by identifying viable low-carbon hydrogen projects, coordinating stakeholders, and guiding proposal development. This includes technical feasibility analysis, pre-feasibility studies, project design, and monitoring. The incumbent will also work with multilateral donors (GCF, GEF, EU) to help secure funding and ensure alignment with national development goals.

🔍 Key Responsibilities

Project Development & Stakeholder Engagement

• Identify and justify low-carbon hydrogen project opportunities

• Analyze technical, economic, and environmental information

• Draft and refine project proposals with national partners

• Review pre-feasibility assessments and align them with policy priorities

Project Execution & Monitoring

• Develop project schedules, implementation methods, and coordination strategies

• Monitor projects through reports, discussions, and site evaluations

• Propose corrective actions and improvement recommendations

• Prepare and disseminate stakeholder progress reports

🎓 Qualifications

• Education: Advanced university degree in Energy, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, or related field.

• Experience:

  • 5+ years in technical cooperation or project portfolio management

  • Experience in renewables, hydrogen, or low-emission technology

  • Proven track record with multilateral donor-funded projects (GEF, GCF, EU)

  • Exposure to developing or transitioning economies (e.g., Brazil, Mexico, South Africa)

• Strong technical writing and cross-cultural communication skills
