The World Health Organization (WHO) is recruiting an International Consultant to lead groundbreaking work on non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in humanitarian settings. This is an 18-month full-time consultancy based in Cairo, Egypt (with consideration for remote work).

This consultancy is a key driver of WHO’s regional framework for NCDs in emergencies, endorsed in 2023. It ensures that people living with conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular diseases receive essential care even in times of crisis.

As the International Consultant, you will:

• Lead the implementation and monitoring of WHO’s NCD-in-emergencies framework.

• Provide technical assistance to regional and country offices.

• Strengthen primary healthcare systems to withstand crises.

• Help countries embed NCD response into national emergency preparedness strategies.
