About the UNAIDS Internship Programme:
The UNAIDS Internship Programme offers a valuable chance to contribute directly to the global response to HIV/AIDS. Specifically, interns work within various divisions, gaining hands-on experience in areas that support UNAIDS’ core mission. While specific duties vary by placement, you will always contribute to UNAIDS’ strategic objectives.
Furthermore, UNAIDS may offer a stipend to help cover living expenses for candidates who are not already receiving financial support from another source.
Who We’re Looking For:
To qualify for the UNAIDS Internship Programme, you must meet one of the following requirements:
- First, you are currently enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate degree program at a recognized educational institution.
- Alternatively, you have completed an undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate degree at a recognized educational institution within the past year. In this case, if you are a recent graduate, you will need to start the internship within 12 months of your graduation date.
Language Requirements:
- In terms of language, you must have a working knowledge (both oral and written) of at least one of UNAIDS’s official languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish). The specific language needed depends on the internship office.

Important Additional Information:
- Age Requirement: Candidates must be at least 20 years of age at the time of application.
- Eligibility Restrictions:
- Please note that persons with immediate family members employed by the UNAIDS Secretariat (e.g., son/daughter, brother/sister, or mother/father) are not eligible.
- Furthermore, you are not eligible if you have previously participated in UNAIDS’s internship program.
