Is this an official United Nations website?
No. UN Jobs Careers is an independent job-search site, not affiliated with or endorsed by the United Nations. We index publicly listed vacancies and always link back to the original posting — applications happen on the hiring organization's own platform.
Where do the listings come from?
From official public boards: UN Careers (careers.un.org) and UNjobnet. Each card shows its source, and the same job cross-posted on multiple boards is merged into one listing with all links retained. Details are on the About page.
How fresh is the data?
Listings refresh on an hourly schedule and are served from a cache, so the site stays fast even if a source is briefly down. The exact "last updated" time is shown on the jobs page. Always confirm deadlines on the original posting.
Do I apply on this site?
Never — and that's by design. Every listing has an "Apply on [source]" button that takes you to the official posting. We never collect applications, CVs or personal data.
How do saved jobs and alerts work without an account?
Both live entirely in your browser's local storage. Saved jobs appear under Saved; alerts are saved searches you can re-run from Job alerts. Clearing browser data removes them; nothing is stored on our servers.
What do the P, G, NO and D grades mean?
They're UN salary/career tracks — P for international professional, G for locally recruited general service, NO for national officers, D for directors. Our grades guide decodes them all.
A listing looks wrong or has expired — why?
Source boards occasionally change or withdraw postings between our refreshes. Expired listings are hidden automatically a day after their deadline. If something looks off, tell us and check the original posting for the authoritative version.
Why isn't unjobs.org included?
Its robots.txt disallows automated access, and we respect that — so we link to it as an additional resource instead of indexing it.
