UN Women Internship: Make a Global Impact
Are you passionate about making a difference for gender equality? Then, apply for a UN Women Internship with the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women (UN Trust Fund). This role sits within UN Women’s Policy, Programme, Intergovernmental Division. Indeed, it’s a unique chance to get direct experience stopping violence against women and girls (EVAW/G).
About the UN Trust Fund: The UN Trust Fund began in 1996. Notably, it remains the only global UN funding mechanism solely dedicated to giving grants directly to civil society groups. These groups work to prevent and end all forms of violence against women and girls. Subsequently, since 2010, UN Women has managed the UN Trust Fund. This arrangement provides strong institutional and field support through global offices.
With nearly three decades of work, the UN Trust Fund has become a key global way to fund efforts against violence. Moreover, it plays a vital role in encouraging cooperation among governments, UN agencies, and civil society. This collaboration addresses the root causes and effects of violence. Furthermore, the Trust Fund gives long-term grants. Specifically, it supports organizations working in many different areas, particularly those helping marginalized groups. For example, it aids Indigenous women, women with disabilities, and women in rural or conflict-affected regions. Ultimately, its investments focus on survivors and aim for lasting impact. To date, the UN Trust Fund has funded over 700 projects in over 140 countries. Consequently, this significantly helps global efforts to end violence against women and girls.
