The United Nations Department of Global Communications (DGC) is recruiting a Social Media Intern to join its dynamic team in New York. This hybrid internship is designed for students or recent graduates with a passion for global impact, digital media, and innovative storytelling.
As part of the Social Media Section, you will support communications campaigns that reach millions, amplifying the UN’s global initiatives through platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
📌 Key Responsibilities:

Research and draft engaging content for social platforms

Monitor and analyze performance metrics for social media posts

Assist with social media coverage at in-person events (e.g., concerts, exhibits)

Create original graphics, captions, and social stories

Attend team meetings and take meeting notes

Support special campaigns and digital initiatives

Track global communications trends to enhance outreach

✅ Requirements:

Be enrolled in or have recently completed:

A graduate program (Master’s, PhD), OR

Final year of a bachelor’s degree program

Academic background in communications, international relations, media, journalism, political science, or related fields

Strong writing and editing skills

Familiarity with Canva, Trello, Adobe Creative Suite, or other design and project management tools

Bonus: Interest or experience in digital photography

Must not be a child or sibling of a current UN staff member
