๐ผ About the Role:
Are you a detail-oriented professional looking to support international development and migration operations? The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is hiring a Budget Assistant at its Geneva headquarters. This is your chance to contribute to the worldโs leading intergovernmental agency focused on humane and orderly migration.
The selected candidate will play a key role in preparing, reviewing, and monitoring IOMโs core budget and financial documents to support effective program implementation.
๐ Key Responsibilities:

Prepare tables, graphs, and budget documentation for the Annual Programme and Budget

Monitor actual expenditures against approved core budget allocations
-
Support compliance with IOM budgetary policies and SOPs

Collaborate with HR to reflect accurate staffing structure in ERP
-
Assist in projectization of core-funded positions and forecast savings
-
Coordinate contract extensions, travel authorizations, and vacancy tracking
-
Prepare internal reports, dashboards, and financial statistics

Liaise with internal teams and flag issues requiring financial oversight
โ Requirements:
Education:
-
Bachelorโs degree in Business Administration or related field with 4 years of experience, OR
-
High school diploma with 6 years of relevant experience
-
Must be from an accredited institution recognized by UNESCO
Experience:
-
Accounting and finance experience (minimum 4โ6 years)
-
Prior work in a multilateral system, preferably UN or IOM
-
Skilled in ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and data management tools

Field mission experience is highly desirable
Language:
-
Fluency in English (oral and written) required

Working knowledge of another official UN language is an asset (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish)
