Key Responsibilities:

The Global Insurance Senior Analyst will be a vital part of the Integrated Travel Risk Management team, supporting and leading elements of the day-to-day management and operations related to World Vision’s global insurance programs. Your emphasis will be on business travel accident, emergency medical, and evacuation coverages. This remote position also supports all aspects of the annual insurance renewal cycle across various lines of coverage.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Insurance Programs Management:
    • Support and lead specific elements of the day-to-day management and operations related to World Vision’s global insurance programs, with an emphasis on business travel accident, emergency medical, and evacuation.
    • Assist with all aspects of the annual insurance renewal cycle across all lines of coverage, including compiling and analyzing exposure and claims data, and departmental reporting functions.
  • Data Analysis & Underwriting Support:
    • Conduct information gathering for underwriting and analysis, including data on global assets/locations, staffing, and other relevant exposures across WVI’s 2,000+ worldwide locations.
    • Ensure high detail for underwriting various WVI insurance policies (e.g., General Liability, Auto Liability, Umbrella, Property, Directors & Officers, Fiduciary, Employment Practices, Crime, Workers Compensation).
    • Collaborate with department Managers, Director, and external insurance providers for adequate global coverage.
  • Information Management:
    • Develop and maintain robust systems for tracking and managing claims and general dashboard reporting.
  • Material & Documentation Support:
    • Create comprehensive reports, presentations, training, and reference materials for Global Insurance.
    • Ensure the internal Global Insurance webpage is updated with relevant information.
  • Finance Partnership:
    • Co-manage the majority of finance-related work for the department, including FPRA inquiries, forecasting, variance tracking, GL review, vendor setup and payments, and coordination with Accounts Payable (reclasses, crediting claim payments, global premium allocations).
    • Support the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting.
  • Risk Mitigation:
    • Work with Global Insurance colleagues to identify and mitigate risks, supporting loss control efforts.
    • Analyze incidents reported through IIMS, VFI monthly Fraud Registers, Fleet Safety, SSR on security incidents, Legal, P&C, Staff Care, etc.
  • Professional Development:
    • Continuously acquire knowledge in risk management, insurance, claims, underwriting processes, loss control, and prevention activities through formal training (courses, webinars, seminars) to foster ongoing development in the field.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree OR 2-3 years of relevant experience in a risk management role for a large global organization, a commercial insurance carrier, a global insurance brokerage firm, or a travel assistance firm.
  • Insurance/risk management coursework and internships will be considered as relevant experience.

Essential Knowledge & Skills:

  • Working knowledge of business travel accident, out-of-country medical, emergency evacuation, and repatriation insurance products, as well as related incident and claims management.
  • Superior organization and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Sound decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with excellent written and oral communication.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of work effectively through prioritization and strong project management skills.

Travel Requirements:

  • The position requires the ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 5% of the time.

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, and/or Other Qualifications:

  • Work experience in travel risk management through insurance products or within the travel assistance space.
  • Achievement of professional designations such as ARM, AIC, or relevant insurance licensing.
  • Work experience in an international/global context.
  • Technical experience in reading, interpreting, and applying insurance policy language to various scenarios.
